What do you guys think? I say it is either a new FXX mule, a LMP1 test vehicle or the chassis to test the new F1 engine.

That wing made me throw up in my mouth.

Whatever it is, I think it will fill the shoes of this racer.

They wouldn't do all that aero development for an F1 engine testbed. It is unlikely there will be an LMP1 car based at all on the F70 (I refuse to call it by its stupid name) because the track and wheelbase are all wrong, the drivetrain is very far from optimized for the task (Audi uses a V6, Porsche's going to use an I4, and Toyota is stretching it already with their V8) and the aero package is all wrong (no shark-tail, those massive side inlets are not to reg, overhangs are all wrong, wing is way off etc, the only thing similar is the snorkel).

Thus, probably a LaXX mule. I can't wait to see the final product. I just hope the wing doesn't look quite that silly...

Considering the the racing series that this used to compete in now uses GT3 spec cars, I doubt it.

Doubt its an LMP1 test mule (the aero is wrong). Doesnt look like an F1 engine tester to me (werent they barstardising a LaFerrari for that? the overhangs look different to that car). I'd go with LaFerrari XX or Maserati MC12 successor but only the latter would get me excited.

If that a P1, they might lose to PC as that thing seems to be just wrong aero-wise, unless they got the new regs.

That would be probably the best news ever.

Why not test bed for the LMP1 engine/drivetrain? It would make sense (at least to me) to test that in a closed body car, you would want some type of aero done to keep the test bed from flying at test speeds, but wouldn't necessarily want to test it in your actual LMP chassis.
